WORDS OF INSPIRATION FROM OTHERS

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy!

You know, sometimes we get so caught up in life, that we forget why we're TRULY here.  We came in a human body, but that is not who we are.  We aren't here to make a lot of money and drive fancy cars; although it is nice to have.  We're not here to have status in the world; although it's nice to be recognized.  And we're not here to just be filled with knowledge; although it is nice to be filled with wisdom.  But we're here because we CHOSE to be here!  That's right my friend, we CHOSE it!  Maybe we, as human beings, don't like to think that we had a choice in the matter, but nevertheless, our SOUL chose to be here.  We were all created as little sparks coming from God in the beginning.  That little tiny spark is what makes up our souls.  We came here to learn and to grow.   We all moan about the hard times in life, (and especially ME) but without them, we would all be hollow shells.  I hope you realize that , my friend.  It is the trials and the sorrows that make us strong; that make us loving and compassionate and beautiful in ~ God's Eyes~ Without these qualities, we are not doing our job that we came here to do.  We (our human nature) are all about EGO.  God doesn't give one bit of a thought about our egos!  Think about it.  Just stop and think for one small moment and ask yourself if you are doing what God put you here to do.  Our main purpose is to learn to love, to give to others freely; not with material possessions, but with our love, with our hearts, with our understanding and our compassion.  If we lack those qualities, we aren't doing what we're supposed to be doing, so the reason for our existence is null and void.  Some people have called me "Pollyanna" and that's cute, but to me it means that I always hold out hope that someday we will all learn to love one another the way that God loves us.  May the peace and love of God be with each and every one of you.  With all my love and all my heart, Kathi

Eleanor Roosevelt wrote:

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart. To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.

Anger is only one letter short of danger. If someone betrays you once, it is his fault; if he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.

He who loses money, loses much; he, who loses a friend, loses much more; He, who loses faith, loses all.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art. Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

This poem was  is engraved on the wall of Mother  Theresa's home for Children in Calcutta.  I was not written by her,  and if anyone can tell me who the author is, I would like to give them credit here on my page.

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.

Love is not two people gazing at each other,
but two people looking in the same direction.

The great thing in this world is not so much where we are,
but in what direction we are moving.

PEACE AND HEALING

Wounded, weary and worthless

I was broken and betrayed,

Bruised, battered and beaten

By a world that didn’t care.

Surrounded by noise

But craving silence,

Surrounded by people

But lost and alone.

I had believed in the promise of happiness

But found that promise to be empty.

Through pleasures I sought fulfillment

But sought it all in vain.

There must be a place where I would find healing?

There must be a place where I would find peace?

I sought that peace in high places,

Where mountains reach to the sky.

I sought it by the water’s edge,

Where wavelets caress the shore.

I sought it deep in the forest,

With dappled sunlight shining,

But that sense of peace and healing

Was nowhere to be found.

Then one night, at my lowest ebb,

I finally prayed to God

Not in a fine cathedral, but standing in the rain;

And I heard the voice of an angel

Saying “Welcome, welcome home.

To find the peace you long for,

And the healing that you need,

Look deep into your heart and soul,

They are there, within yourself.”

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind
And therefore is wing'd cupid painted blind.

Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.

People will forget what you said, will forget what you did,
But will never forget how you made them feel.

The best portion of a good man's life is
his little nameless, unremembered
acts of kindness and of love.

You cannot do a kindness too soon...
For you never know how soon...
It will be too late.

The following was written by a very dear friend of mine and reiterates how I feel about healing, one of the favorite phrases I have is "You are your own best teacher."

What is a Healer?

This question has been asked of me many times and as my own growth progresses it has taken on different meanings with each level. I believe I've come to finally understand what it means to be a Healer in today's world. The last 8 years have been devoted to my own personal healing so that I might be the "Healer" I knew I was destined to be in this life. The journey has taken many turns, twist and bends, it has been a difficult but rewarding journey and  I now know all of those who choose to heal must take this journey in their own fashion. It is not that I have reached a point where I can now be called a Healer , but that I have learned many tools along the path that have helped me heal my self and placed me in position to teach these tools to others that are on the path to their own healing. I have learned that I can heal only one person, me. I have learned that when we call ourselves a Healer we must be working on self or we do not qualify for that title. There are many that call themselves healers that are not working on themselves so how can they work on someone else? We can teach many tools for healing, but we cannot heal anyone, it is a job that can only be done by, and for, self. It can be facilitated and guided by another, but bottom line is "only you have the power to heal yourself." We are the power in our own lives and if you are living the illusion that you are not in control of your own life then you need to take your power back from those you gave it too. I have met many who believe they have the power to heal another and when I look closer I discover that they are living that 3rd dimensional ego and not working on themselves. I guess my message here is if your inclined to heal your life, look in the mirror and decided where to start, then find someone that is working on their own spiritual healing and share tools for making the journey. "You are your own best teacher"

The Garden of Life

First plant four rows of peas----
Promptness, Preparation, Perseverance , purity.
Next plant three rows of squash----
Squash gossip, squash indifference, squash unjust  criticism.
Then plant five rows of lettuce---
Let us be faithful to duty, let us be unselfish and loyal,
let us obey the rules and regulations,
let us be true to our obligation, let us love one another.
No garden is complete without turnips----
Turn up for work, turn up with a smile,
turn up with determination
to make everything count for something good and worthwhile.
